South Africa’s regional carrier, Airlink, has announced additional routes to its operations effective from August, 2020.
In a press statement, the airline revealed that it was introducing three new routes and increasing frequency on five of the routes it currently operates on to provide travelers with more flight choices, more travel opportunities and better connectivity.
From August 17, 2020, Airlink will introduce the Johannesburg/Kimberley route, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with an early morning and late afternoon service, providing travelers with same day return flights.
The carrier will introduce an afternoon scheduled service from August 18 2020, operating on Tuesdays and Thursdays on the Cape Town/Kimberley route.
On the Johannesburg/East London route, there will be daily early morning and late afternoon flights from August 24 2020, operating on Monday through Friday and Sundays.
From 17 August, the airline will also enhance its flight services with an additional mid-morning flight on the Johannesburg/Cape Town route, an additional early morning flight on the Johannesburg/Nelspruit route, an additional mid-morning flight on the Johannesburg/Port Elizabeth route and an additional early morning flight on the Johannesburg/Bloemfontein route.
On the Cape Town/Bloemfontein route, from August 18, 2020, there be additional flights on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
In July 2020, Airlink announced added flights between Johannesburg and Bloemfontein, Nelspruit KMIA Upington and Pietermaritzburg as well as Cape Town to Bloemfontein and Cape Town to Port Elizabeth.
The airline temporarily suspended its operations on March 26, 2020 following South Africa’s lockdown to curb the spread of Covid 19 and the resultant travel bans.
