As the government eases up some of the lockdown restrictions to open up the economy, Zimbabwe will now allow restaurants to serve sit-in meals.

Permanent Secretary for Information Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Ndabaningi Mangwana made the announcement through his official twitter account.

“Restaurants will now be allowed to serve sit-in meals at 50% sitting capacity and observe all other agreed containment measures,” said Mangwana.

This decision was made by the cabinet, according to Mangwana.

According to the Ministry of Health and Child Care, as of June 30, 2020, Zimbabwe had 591 confirmed Covid-19 cases,162 recoveries and seven deaths.
