The South African National Parks (SANParks) head office in Groenkloof, Pretoria closed its doors on June 29, 2020 as a precautionary measure after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19, authorities have said.
SANParks Acting Head of Communications, Reynold Thakhuli confirmed the closure in a press statement, adding that the offices are expected to reopen on July 2, 2020.
“This means no one will be allowed in the building before Thursday, 2 July as a deep cleaning exercise is now underway,” expressed Thakhuli.
He also said guests who have been making amendments to their bookings are requested to expect delays as the call centre staff will not be in the office until the mandatory period of decontamination is concluded.
“The call centre staff will, however, work remotely and continue to be available by email.”
“All precautionary measures, social distancing rules and additional sanitation are in place at all our facilities and we will continue to vigilantly implement these to protect both our staff and guests to our facilities.”
