South African National Parks (SANParks) has made the decision to close the Lions Head section of Table Mountain with immediate effect, until further notice, Table Mountain National Park management has announced.

“The Lion’s Head section of the Table Mountain National Park has been closed indefinitely, with immediate effect,” said SANParks.

“Due to the nature of the trail, recreational activities are no longer permitted in these areas due to none compliance by users in accordance to the Alert Level 3 regulations of the Nationwide Lockdown,” added the Table Mountain National Park management via their official Twitter account.
