Air France-KLM suspends commercial flights from SA to Europe

Franco-Dutch airline holding company, Air France-KLM announced that it has suspended commercial flights from South Africa to Europe, until further notice.

In a statement dated April 28, 2020, the Group said this was in compliance with the measures of the South African government to keep the borders closed for international travel.

“In cooperation with the different European embassies, repatriation flights can be arranged if there is enough demand,” read the statement.

Air France–KLM added that concerning repatriation, that Dutch nationals had to contact the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs whilst the French nationals had to contact the Johannesburg or Cape Town Consulates.
