Ghana‘s president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced that a two-week extension of the ban on public gatherings had been effected in a bid to contain the spread of COVID-19.
The extension, according to Akufo-Addo came into effect on 01:00 GMT on Monday, April 27, 2020.
A ban on social gathering was introduced in Ghana on March 15, 2020 three days after reporting its first two confirmed coronavirus cases.
Ghana’s borders remain closed though a lockdown on some of the hardest-hit territories has been lifted.
