Malawi’s Kukaya Festival, which debuted in 2019 is returning for the second edition in digital format in the wake of COVID-19, the festival announced.
According to the Festival’s creative director Tamanda Mbendera, Kukaya will be will be streamed online in partnership with Zonse Live, from May 1 to 3, 20201st to 3rd May, 2020.
“As you may be aware, the creative industry has been greatly affected by Covid-19 pandemic, with so many events being cancelled,” said Mbendera.
“We are seeking to continue providing entertainment in a safe and responsible manner whilst still ensuring our collaborating artists are able to sustain some income during this time.”
The lineup for the Festival is yet to be announced.
