British airline, Virgin Atlantic is set to relaunch a daily service between Heathrow Airport in London and Cape Town International Airport, Cape Town.
According to a press statement released by the airline, the service will be launched on October 25, 2020 and will complement the existing daily service between Heathrow and Johannesburg.
“2020 is an extremely exciting year of continued growth for Virgin Atlantic and increasing our presence out of Manchester is a huge focus for us,” said the Virgin Atlantic Chief Commercial Officer, Juha Jarvinen.
A 787-9 aircraft will operate on this route as a night flight departing Heathrow at 16:20 and landing in Cape Town at 05:55 whilst the inbound, a VS479, will depart at 08:00 landing later that day at 18:00.
Virgin Atlantic previously operated a non-stop service to Cape Town from 1999 until 2014 but it was suspended as it was found to be unprofitable.
