One of the largest tourism marketing events on the African calendar, Africa’s Travel Indaba which was set to be held in May 2020 at the at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Convention Centre in Durban, South Africa Africa has been postponed to curb the spread the coronavirus.
No new date for the event has been confirmed yet.
“Our team is working hard to find suitable new dates in a dynamic environment and remain committed to ensuring the success of INDABA as the largest tourism trade show on the African calendar,” said South African Tourism’s CEO Sisa Ntshona.
Commenting on the postponement, South African Tourism Chief Conventions Bureau Officer, Amanda Kotze-Nhlapo said despite this, buyers were still interested and had been making enquiries.
” For us with Indaba, it is such a big event, in a way it gives us a little bit more time to also think of new ideas. We definitely still on postpone,” added Kotze-Nhlapo.
Africa’s Travel Indaba exhibits the widest variety of Africa’s best tourism products and attracts international buyers and media from across the world.
