Plans to hold a Tanzania and Nigeria Travel Week 2020 which is expected to attract travel stakeholders including airlines, hotels, the media, tour operators and tourists, have been proposed.

These plans are part of proposals set forth during a series of high level discussions held among the African Tourism Board (ATB) representatives and High Commissioners and other diplomats from South Africa and Tanzania, accredited in Nigeria.

The Travel Week 2020, without a definite date set yet, is one of the platforms to be used by the ATB in its bid to elevate Africa as the world travel destination of choice.

The ATB has begun to work intently with Nigeria, South Africa and Tanzania to promote this joint tourism campaign which was kick started by the ATB Ambassador to Nigeria, Abigail Ogbaye, who, together with the ATB Chairman, Cuthbert Ncube, met with the Nigerian High Commissioner to Tanzania, Dr Sahabi Isa Gada and other diplomats at the South African High Commission in Tanzania, to exchange ideas on tourism development.

The ATB also followed up with an advisory visit to the Tanzanian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Dr. Benson Bana for further high level discussions encompassing the promotion and facilitation of tourism products of Tanzania and Nigeria. a”y&UF
