The World Travel Market (WTM), a travel and tourism show organization has announced that it has no plans to cancel its travel and tourism show slated for the 6th to the 8th of April 2020.
This follows the cancellation of the Internationale Tourismus Börse (ITB) Berlin due to the Corona Virus epidemic that has hit the world.
Communicating through their official Twitter account @WTM_Africa, the organization said the event was going on as planned at the Cape Town International Convention Center and that 6 263 travel industry professionals were expected.
“We would like to reassure you that we have no plans to cancel WTM or ILMTM in Cape Town.”
Also allaying fears of cancellation, via their official website, WTM Africa added that the decision to go on as planned was based on the fact that their exhibitors fell outside the high risk COVID-19 areas.
“Reed Exhibitions takes our clients’, exhibitors’, buyers’, visitors’ and staff’s well being extremely seriously and all measures are being put in place to ensure that your health and safety is prioritized.
The 2020 edition of the show is expected to be the biggest ever on the continent with a number of exciting innovations, hyper focused events and partnerships, including those with Vineyard Hotel, Indlovu Gin, Ujumbe Ink as well as the ITTFA which is set to launch the Tourism Film Conference, among many.
