The Second South African Adventure Summit is scheduled to be held in June 2020 at the Wits End Mountain Resort in the Drakensberg.

The South African Adventure Summit is a conference that brings together owners and managers of activity operations from around the country. The Summit focuses on adventure tourism and includes both small and medium-sized business as well as the bigger, long-established operators.

The first South African Adventure Summit was held in the Western Cape in September 2017 over three days. Informative talks and panel discussions covered aspects affecting the adventure tourism industry like marketing, booking platforms, risk management, environmental impact, guide training and qualifications as well as insights from government and specific adventure tourism experiences.

The day before the official start of the Summit is a ‘Day of Adventure’ where conference participants are invited to participate in one of the many activities hosted by operators in the area. These include a day hike, mountain biking, quad biking, zip lining, 4×4 tour, kayaking, hot air ballooning, abseiling and zip swing, Scootours and horse riding.

The cost is R2,150.
