Atlanta-based rapper, actor and philanthropist Christopher Brian Bridges is now officially a Gabonese citizen. Ludacris posted the news on his instagram page, showing off his brand new passport.
Ludacris’ wife, model Eudoxie Mbouguiengue is a native of Gabon. She is the founder of Unspoken Angels Foundation, a non-profit that has been doing work supporting and empowering young women who have suffered abuse.
Ludacris visited Ghana and Gabon as part of the 2019 “Year Of Return” , an initiative by the Government of Ghana that is intended to encourage the African diasporans to return to Africa to settle and invest.
The citizenship is hugely significant especially at a time when people of African descent are being encouraged to retrace and reclaim their roots. Most of Africans in America and the Caribbeans are descendants of slaves who were shipped unwillingly to work on plantations.
